Though this is a beautiful addition to my garden, it is not what I bought it for. Though I set it up as instructed, the mechanism is so heavy that the whole thing starts to lean after some time and no matter how strong the wind, the whirligig NEVER rotates by it. If you want a whirligig that looks nice yet has to be manually turned--occasionally I walk by and spin it with my finger--then this would be OK. If you want one that turns in the wind, look elsewhere.
