I have had this mounted on the peak of my garage for a couple of years. The installation was very quick. It comes with a support to attach the pole to. It adjustas to the pitch of the roof and is easily screwed in place. The pig is hollow, but must be fairly sturdy as it is holding up well. While originally shiny copper, it now has a burnished patina. As it gets fairly windy here, this little pig really does fly. I always get a kick when I see it whirling around in a frenzy. It is a totally cute, non-traditional weather vane. This little piggy has a big smile, cute twisted tail, and wings that look heaven sent.
The only negative is that it used to squeak when moving. I had my husband spray some lubricant on the post and the problem has been eliminated.
