WHIPPET DOG WEATHERVANE

Being parents to three lovely Greyhounds -- Leyla, Natalie, and Mona Lisa, we fell in love with this weathervane. A Greyhound vane was not available; however, this Whippet works out well, looking identical -- in steel anyway -- to a Greyhound.

We have a nice sized storage barn in our back yard and this is where my husband installed the weathervane. It was very easy for him to install. The vane mounted on the roof with three drilled holes and three screws. Installation was super easy as we were able to purchase this vane complete with the roof mount. You will have to put a clear gloss enamel on the vane yourself -- this is to protect the paint job. This was very simple and easy to do. The price is certainly right and the weathervane is definitely made from high quality products.

Other great features are the nice powder coat baked on finish, the vane is made from sixteen gauge steel, and there is a stainless steel ballbearing in the windcup which allows for easy rotation. If desired, there are many, many other tops available that you may purchase and change out when the mood hits. These interchangeable tops pop right into the roof mount and you are ready to go with a new look.

Last week we had heavy and horrible thunderstorms here with plenty of high winds. That weathervane held its own and twirled and danced during the storm! We kept watching to see if it would get struck by lightning, which, thankfully, it didn't! Those late afternoon storms proved that this vane is well made and able to withstand anything Mother Nature throws at it.
