I was a little disappointed that the item was made in china. But it is difficult to find anything that isn't. As for the quality, it was very good. It appears that it is a cheaper metal with a copper plate, but that was expected at this price. The blue accents are nice as well. As did other reviewers, I had a problem with it not wanting to spin in light winds. It seemed that it had a hard time starting. If I gave it a start the wind would keep it going. I solved the problem by using a short length of heavy weight fishing line between the swivel and the hanger. The line allows the spinner to turn easier, (no friction), and after it gets turning back and forth a few times it takes off better and then the swivel takes the spin better. I will say this, I had one of these before, (it was stolen), and the company that makes them did add a much better quality swivel. The 1st one had a very cheap swivel that didn't work at all. The 2nd one has a much better ball bearing type swivel that works. I put a drop of very light oil in the swivel and wiped it off so dirt didn't stick to it and it works. I also learned from the 1st one that a light coat of a weather resistant clear finish once or twice a year will keep it from tarnishing or rusting, (rust happens if the copper coating is compromised). All in all for the money this was a great buy.
